The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand signified so much to me during a trip I’ll never forget. I look forward to her books each year. They’re familiar, juicy, and a welcome retreat.
The first book I read of hers was Winter in Paradise from Book of the Month (that link will get you your first box for $5) and I couldn’t get my hands on the following two books fast enough. Since that feverish binge, I’ve been working my way through her backlist and enjoying each one!
This summer, she released The Five-Star Weekend and it was a five star read! You can click here to read my full review, but today I’m sharing a cocktail pairing that feels iconically perfect.
This recipe came from an IG story that Elin shared while celebrating the book’s release. After coming up with my own measurements, I’m here to confirm it’s absolutely delicious and needs to be at your book club’s next meeting!

Large Batch Strawberry Margaritas

Ingredients:
- 2.5 oz vodka
- 2 oz passionfruit – I like this one
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 drop vanilla
- .5 oz lime juice
- sparkling water
- lime wedge for garnish
Directions:
- In a shaker of ice, combine vodka, passionfruit, syrup, vanilla, and lime juice
- Shake and strain into a glass over ice
- Top with sparkling water
- Garnish with a lime wedge and serve!
