I have been sharing book reviews for five years and my number one recommendation to readers is to read Katherine Center’s books. Katherine Center writes love stories filled with hope, joy, and humor. I’ve read and loved all of her books!
Some of her novels have a little more need for content warnings than others, but Katherine Center’s novels don’t feel like trauma punches. You’ll read her books and feel refreshed and comforted, not emotionally drained.
Don’t get me wrong – I love an emotionally draining book, but I have to be in the right headspace to take them on. I could read Katherine Center’s books every day of my life and be a very happy girl.
She’s published 11 books and her 12th novel, The Rom-Commers, releases this June. I was lucky to receive an early copy of the book and fell in love with it. No surprise there!

So, in what order do I recommend reading Katherine Center’s novels?
There is no right or wrong way! Her books can all be read as standalone stories, but there are a few that have connections to each other. Her writing craft has also changed over her career, which makes the reading journey from old to new books so wonderful.
Here’s my recommended order for reading Katherine Center’s books:
- How to Walk Away
- Things You Save in a Fire (HTWA and TYSIAF are interconnected but can be read independently)
- What You Wish For
- Happiness for Beginners
- The Bodyguard
- The Rom-Commers (The Bodyguard and The Rom-Commers are interconnected but can be read independently)
- Hello Stranger
You can get many of Katherine Center’s books through Book of the Month! I love this service. They have the best prices on new hardback books! I’ve been a member for seven years!! Try them for $5 with my referral link!
These final books are her earlier works that I think can be sprinkled in anywhere! It’s fun to see how her style has changed over the years, but her voice still shines through!
